from blue agave sourced in the Tequila Valley, 100% estate grown and mixed with
water from a natural spring in the same region, La Fortaleza’s Los Abuelos
Tequila Reposado is regarded by many to be one of the best tequilas ever made. It
is also bottled in hand-blown glass from Mexico.
reposado is started with agave that is stone crushed before being cooked in
stone-and-brick ovens using a copper pot to ensure it simmers in its own
natural sugars. The fermentation process is done using open-air tanks made of
wood, and then it is aged in American Oak barrels for anywhere from six to nine
months before being double distilled.
the nose, Fortaleza Reposado shows hints of agave, butter, caramel, citrus and
sage. However, these notes are just the first stage of a unique taste that is
balanced, full of character and unlike any tequila you’ve tasted before. On the
palate, apple, cinnamon, vanilla and earthy tones join the agave and citrus
before leading into a delicate, long and rich finish that features an oily
texture accented with a hint of spice.
